Cougars Finish 15th in Talented Field

STANFORD, Calif. – The Washington State University women's golf team concluded play at the Stanford Intercollegiate, Tuesday, at the Stanford Golf Course.

WSU finished 15th with a total score of 902 (+50) after shooting 18-over par (302) in the third round. Three Pac-12 rivals led the field. No. 9 Stanford won the tournament with a three-round score of 847 (-5). No. 1 USC finished second at 854 (+2), while No. 12 UCLA rounded out the top three at 855 (+3).

After shooting 2-over (73) in the third round, junior Cherokee Kim tied for 30th (+6, 219), 14 strokes back of champion Bronte Law of UCLA (-8, 205).

Sophomore Alivia Brown tied for 54th with a three-round score of 225 (+12) after shooting 7-over (78) on the day. Senior Nani Yanagi shot 4-over (75) in the third round to tie for 69th (+17, 230).

Sophomore Bree Wanderscheid tied for 73rd (+19, 232), two strokes behind Yanagi. Senior Rachel Lewis tied for 83rd (+28, 241).

Next up, the Cougars travel to Kailua Kona, Hawaii, to compete at the Pac-12 Preview, Monday through Tuesday, Nov. 2-3, at Nanea Golf Course.
