WSU Travels to Bay Area for No. 11 Stanford, Cal

WSU VOLLEYBALL VISITS THE BAY AREA
The Washington State University volleyball team (14-6 overall, 3-5 Pac-12) plays in the San Francisco Bay area this weekend...at No. 11 Stanford (11-5, 5-3) Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in Maples Pavilion...at California (7-12, 1-7) Sunday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. in Haas Pavilion...WSU at Cal match will be broadcast on Pac-12 TV Networks...both Stanford and Cal host and play No. 4 Washington before meeting WSU this week.
COUGAR COACHING STAFF
Jen Stinson Greeny is in her fifth season as WSU's head coach (67-82 at WSU, 5 years; 180-106 in career, 9 years) - complete Greeny bio on page 5...assistant coaches Burdette Greeny (fifth year) and Shannon Hunt (third year)...all coaches are former WSU student-athletes...volunteer coach James Dorr (first year)...Katie Hinrichs is coordinator of operations (fifth year).

This week the WSU volleyball team is ranked 44th in the PrepVolleyball.com College Top 50 rankings, a move up of two spots from last week...other Pac-12 members and their PrepVolleyball.com rankings for this week include: 1. USC, 7. Washington, 15. UCLA, 18. Arizona, 20. Arizona State, 21. Stanford, 32. Colorado, and 39. Oregon.

SOMMER CLAIMS DIGS RECORD
Senior Kate Sommer became the WSU career digs record-holder Oct. 18, 2015, when she surpassed Kelly Hyder's 1,773 career digs, set from 2006-09...Sommer, from Pacific Palisades, Calif., has accumulated 1,779 digs to date... Sommer also passed one of her coaches, WSU assistant Shannon Wyckoff Hunt who tallied 1,254 digs from 1994-97 as an all-round position player since the libero position came into NCAA play in 1999.
