PASCO, Wash. – BYU scored three times in the top of the seventh and four pitches combined for a six-hit shutout of Washington State in a 3-0 victory at Gesa Stadium, Tuesday night.

The loss broke a six-game winning streak for Washington State (15-14) while BYU improved to 13-21.

“We did not have the intensity we have had in the last couple of weeks,” WSU Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. “We did not execute offensively when we missed a chance to score early in the ballgame.”

Kellen Camus provided four shutout innings in a controlled start for Washington State before BYU got to reliever Sam Triece (1-2) in the seventh. BYU picked up four hits and took advantage of a WSU error in the rally.

Hayden Rogers (1-1), the third BYU pitcher, struck out four in 2 2/3 innings for the victory. Brandon Kinser recorded the final four outs for his third save.

Washington State returns to Pac-12 action for a three-game series, Friday-Sunday against Oregon State.
