Cougars Slide into 14th at Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – The Washington State women's golf team moved up one spot on the leaderboard to 14th on the final day of the Silverado Showdown. The Cougars final score was 923, 59 over par. Washington won the tournament (-3, 861) with USC in second place (+10, 874) and Northwestern in third (+12, 876).

Senior, Mallory Kent, continued to lead the Cougar squad finishing tied for 29th. Kent ended the tournament with a 224 (+8) carded her second best round of the tournament in the final round with a 75 (+3).

Junior, Kristen Rue, also carded her second round of the tournament with a score of 77 (+5). Rue's efforts in the second round moved her up two spots on the leaderboard ending tied for 40th (+16, 232). Sophomore, Nani Yanagi and freshman, Cherokee Kim, were not far behind their teammate finishing tied for 52nd (+17, 233) and tied for 56th (+18, 234) respectively.

Next up for the Cougars is the Pac-12 Championships on Apr. 25-27, 2014.
