Snyder Notches Top-5 Finish

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Senior Blake Snyder shot 1-under par (215) and finished tied for fourth at the Hawkeye-Great River Entertainment Invitational, Sunday. Snyder led the Washington State University men's golf team to an eighth-place finish on a rainy day at the Finkbine Golf Course. The Cougars carded a 311 (+23) in the final round to bring their 54-hole score to 898 (+34).

The Cougars finished one stroke back from seventh-place Denver (+33, 897) and just six strokes back from fifth-place Marquette (+28, 892). Host school Iowa (-11, 853) won the competition, while the Hawkeye's Steven Ihm (-7, 209) garnered the individual title.

Despite shooting 4-over par (76) in the final round, Snyder's performance Saturday ensured him his third top-5 finish of the year. Junior Charlie Mroz tied for 32nd, shooting a 3-round score of 225 (+9). Freshman Nick Mandell carded the second-lowest score of the day for the Cougars, shooting 5-over (77) to finished tied for 42. Junior Michael Anderson (+16, 232) and senior Kent Hagen (+26, 242) finished 52nd and 64th, respectively.

The Cougars conclude their regular season in Marana, Ariz. at the Pac-12 Golf Championships, April 25-27.
