MOSCOW, Idaho - Several Washington State track and field performers had lifetime-best performances Saturday at the Vandal Jamboree at the Dan O`Brien Track Complex on the University of Idaho campus in Moscow.
Freshman Kristine Felix (Wailuku, Hawai'i) won the women's pole vault after clearing a PR height of 13-feet 1 1/2 inches (4.00m), the fifth-best pole vault height in WSU women's history. Teammate Kelsey Bueno (junior, Kent, Wash.) tied for second with a season-best clearance at 12-7 1/2 (3.80m) while Carly Fitzpatrick (senior, Sumner, Wash.) tallied a PR at 12-1 1/2 (3.70m) and Samantha Andrada (sophomore, Orting, Wash.) cleared a PR height of 11-7 3/4 (3.55m).
Senior Ross VanZanten (senior, Longview, Wash.) who cleared a PR height of 6-11 (2.11m).
Austin Sodorff (freshman, Woodinville, Wash.) soared to a PR height in the men's pole vault of 16-10 3/4 (5.05m) which tied for second place.
Matt Wardell (sophomore, Post Falls, Idaho) heaved the shot put a PR distance of 53-1 3/4 (16.20m) for third place.
Other Cougars taking victories Saturday included Holly Parent (women's high jump), Charlotte Muschamp (women's triple jump), Andre McBride (men's 100m), Ramsey Hopkins (men's 400m hurdles), and Tay'lor Eubanks (men's triple jump).
Next up for the Cougars is the individual and relays portion of the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships, May 11 and 12 at USC.
