JAMTAAS' WSU CAREER
JUNIOR (2001): Three year back row starter...provided some spectacular back row saves...averaged 2.84 digs per game, tied with setter Kali Surplus for second on team...had 18 digs vs. Arkansas and again at UCLA...tallied career high four kills versus Pacific and again at Oregon State...13 double-digit digs in 29 matches...season's 41 kills doubled her two-year career total of 19 kills...named to 2001 Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention team...relished the action as a libero during spring 2002 practices and tournaments.
SOPHOMORE (2000): Second year as back row starter...averages 2.55 digs per game which is third on team...played front row at Cal (3 kills) and at Arizona (2 kills)...19 digs versus Kansas State is career-best...nailed three service aces at Idaho...named to 2000 Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention team.
FRESHMAN (1999): Started in back row...averaged 2.40 digs per game...had 19 digs versus New Mexico and again against Washington...led team in serving with 27 aces...seven aces during four matches at Cougar Challenge tournament...during spring practice, demonstrated impressive hitting skills.

Lettered eight times at Miramonte High...four-year letterwinner at outside hitter for coach Ken Ko...also two years as a sweeper/forward in soccer and as a long jumper and relay runner on the track team...as a freshman, named first team all-league and team MVP in soccer...sophomore year repeated soccer first team all-league and team MVP honors...volleyball team was Tri-County Athletic League and North Coast Division III champions...accolades included first team all-league and second team all-region...tabbed one of Contra Costa Times Top 50 Female Athletes...during her junior year, volleyball team was undefeated enroute to repeat of league title...named first team all-league and first-team all-region...team MVP...also selected Western Canadian Challenge Tournament MVP...second year selected to Contra Costa Times Top 50 Female Athletes list...as a senior, volleyball squad again undefeated and league champs...named league MVP and received first team all-league and all-region honors...team MVP...again named one of Contra Costa Times Top 50 Female Athletes...North Coast club team Player of the Year...her City Beach 18-Black team finished second at 18-Open Nationals.

Kortney Elizabeth Jamtaas was born June 10, 1980, in Pullman, Washington...father Kris is a resort manager and a 1976 graduate of WSU where he was a setter on the men's volleyball club team..mother Janet Zuzack is a floral designer...one older brother, Keith Jamtaas (4/22/79)...stepbrother and sister, Aaron and Ashley Zuzack...Kortney is a third generation Cougar and eighth in her family to attend WSU...volunteered with National Charity League for six years...majoring in psychology...named to the 1999 WSU Athletic Freshmen-Transfer All-Academic Team.
