Born in April 1990, in Hilo, Hawai'i...mother Carla Carpenter-Kabalis is a Meals on Wheels supervisor and was an All-American volleyball player at University of Hawai'i-Hilo where team was 1979 and 1981 AIAW National Champions and 1981 NAIA Champions...mother was assistant coach volleyball at Hawaii-Hilo, the 1988 NAIA Champions...mother was inducted to NAIA Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1989 and University of Hawai'i-Hilo Hall of Fame in 1993...father Sisoye "Sodie" is a fitness therapist who was a state champion body builder, powerlifter, kickboxer and surfer...younger sister Kuulei plays volleyball at Western Nebraska CC...older sister Kahala played volleyball at Mesa State College and Chaminade University and is currently an assistant volleyball coach at Hawaii Pacific as well as the director of HI Intensity Club...brothers Kamalu and Kekoa...comes from a storied extended family of athletes including grandfather Dante Carpenter who played football at University of Hawai'i-Manoa (1952) and was heavyweight boxing champion 1954-55-56...hobbies include drawing, body boarding, surfing, swimming and hula and hip hop dancing...will major in humanities at WSU.
