Women's Golf Finishes Sixth Overall

 

AURORA, Ore. – As the conditions improved for competition, Washington State women's golf finished sixth overall in the field of 16 schools. WSU scored 309 in round two for a combined score of 613, +37.

Senior, Mallory Kent, led the Cougars tied for 14th, improving ten positions from Monday. Kent scored a 74, two over par bringing her tournament total to 151, +7.

Other top-20 finishers were junior, Kristen Rue, and sophomore Lindsay Harmon. Rue finished in the top-20 tied for 17th with a total score of 152 and eight over par. Her best shot on the day was a par at hole 27. Harmon rounded out the top-20 finishers for WSU tied for 20th with an overall score of 154, +10.

“As a team we struggled to get anything going this week. We look to have a couple of focused practices this week to regroup before we hit the road again,” said Head Coach Kelli Kamimura. “We are a talented, tough team and look forward to competition again next week against a solid field at Sahalee.”

Next the Cougars travel to the west side of the state to compete in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Oct. 8-9th.
