Tournament Results

MERIDIAN, Idaho - In Tuesday's final round of the Boise State University Dash Thomas Memorial, the Washington State men's golf team distanced itself from competing teams with a dominant effort and won the tournament outright. The men's team finished 9-under par for the tournament.

This tournament victory for the WSU men marks the first time since the 2009-10 season that the Cougar men's team has won two tournaments in the same season.

Redshirt sophomore Sang Lee, who carded a school record-breaking score of 63 in the tournament's second round Monday, followed his career-best round with a 71 (even-par) and finished the tournament with a three-round score of 211. Sophomore Michael Anderson and senior Hank Frame also posted marks of 211, and all three players tied for fifth in the tournament.

Juniors Blake Snyder and Jarrett Foote led the Cougar men in the tournament's final round, each with scores under par Tuesday.Snyder, with the best mark of the day for WSU (-2, 69), finished just three strokes behind Lee, Anderson, and Frame with 214. He tied for 15th place. Foote was 1-under par for the day and finished tied for 37th.

"It is never easy to win," Washington State Head Coach Garrett Clegg said. "Our team did a great job, and we had solid performances from everyone this week. Our scores today ranged from 69-73, so everyone was right there. Our guys got off to a really fast start and from there continued to play really solid."

WSU came into the final round with a lead of just two strokes to Utah Valley. The Cougars were 2-under par as a team in the final round and their lead to runner-up Utah Valley was extended to six strokes.

The next tournament for the men's golf team will be October 8-9. The team will be competing in the Pac-12 Preview in North Plains, Ore.
