Cougars Drop Second-Straight to Huskies

SEATTLE - Collin Slaybaugh collected three hits and two RBI in a losing effort as Washington defeated Washington State 5-2 for the second-straight day in Pac-12 Conference baseball.

The Huskies (30-24, 13-16 Pac-12) took a 2-0 lead with a run in the each of the first-two innings against Washington State (27-28, 11-18 Pac-12) starter J.D. Leckenby (4-7).

In the third, P.J. Jones led off with a double for the Cougars and Ian Sagdal walked. After a sacrifice by Kyle Johnson, Slaybaugh tied the game with a two-run double.

Washington broke the tie with a run in the fifth and added another in the sixth against Leckenby. The Huskies capped the scoring with a run in the eighth against reliever Anthony Drobnick.

The series and regular season concludes, Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
