PULLMAN, Wash. - Oregon State used a 13-hit attack to defeat Washington State 10-2 in Pac-12 Conference baseball, Friday at Bailey-Brayton Field.

The Beavers (34-17, 14-11 Pac-12) scored four times in the first inning on the strength of back-to-back home runs against Washington State (25-25, 10-15 Pac-12) starter Tanner Chleborad (4-3). The Cougars got one run back in the bottom of the inning, but left the bases loaded after receiving four walks in the frame.

"It was a bad first inning for us and we never overcame it," Washington State Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. "We just didn't get a big hit in the first inning."

Oregon State stretched its lead to 8-1 with three runs in the second and another in the sixth. In the bottom of the sixth, Taylor Ard belted his team-leading 12th home run of the season for the Cougars' second run.

The Beavers capped the scoring with two runs in the eighth inning. Matt Boyd (4-0) struck out six in 2 2/3 innings of shutout relief to earn the victory.
