Men's Golf Edged in Match Play

BRADENTON, Fla. - The Washington State men's golf team lost a pair of matches by a 3-2 margin during day one of the 2012 Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship at The Concession Golf Club.

The No. 16 seed Cougars lost their opening match to top-seeded Arkansas and were defeated by No. 8 seed Iowa in the consolation bracket.

Redshirt-freshman Sang Lee won both of his matches 3 and 1, downing Ethan Tracy of Arkansas and Iowa's Barrett Kelpin.

Junior Hank Frame won his first match of the day defeating the Razorbacks' Austin Cook 2 and 1. Sophomore Kent Hagen picked up a win in the afternoon, 4 and 2 over Brian Bullington of Iowa.

The Cougars will take on No. 12 seed South Florida, Monday in their third match of the tournament. Tee time is 8:30 a.m. Eastern/5:30 a.m. Pacific.
