Bolligar Double-Winner at Vandal Collegiate Meet

MOSCOW, Idaho -- Washington State University's Michael Bolligar was a double-winner and the Cougars tallied 20 lifetime-best performances Saturday at the Vandal Collegiate Indoor Track & Field Meet at the University of Idaho's Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center.

Bolligar, a junior multi-events specialist from Peoria, Ariz., won the high jump with a season-best 6-feet, 8 3/4 inches (2.05m), and captured the long jump with a distance of 22-6 1/2 (6.87m). He also ran a PR time in the 60m hurdles of 8.88 seconds.

Other Cougar men claiming victories included Dana Wells (junior, Tieton, Wash.) who continued to see his marks fall this season with a win in the 200m in a PR time of 21.90. Lee George (redshirt freshman, Ferndale, Wash.) won the mile in a PR time of 4:11.40, and Aric Walden (freshman, Newport, Wash.) won the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.19. Thrower Joe Bartlett (senior, Reno) won the shot put with a mark of 57-7 (17.55m).

Rashaun Johnson (sophomore, West Seattle) was the top collegiate runner in the men's 60m dash with a PR time of 7.03).

Leading the Cougar women, Shawna Fermin (junior, Victorville, Calif.) won the 200m dash in a PR time of 24.35 seconds, the fastest time for a WSU woman this season. Shaquana Logan (junior, Tacoma) led a foursome of Cougs to top five finishes in 60m hurdles. Logan won with a time of 8.52 followed by Devin Brooks (2nd, 8.82), Morgan Clem (4th, 9.09), and Andrea Smith (5th, 9.10).

Kayla Warren (freshman, Seattle) led a one-two-three Cougar long jump finish with a PR leap of 38-9 3/4 (11.83m) for first place. Shantae Young (sophomore, Oak Harbor, Wash.) was second with a mark of 38-6 (11.73m) and Lauran Johnson (junior, Vallejo, Calif.) was third with a PR mark of 38-4 1/4 (11.69m).

The WSU men's and women's teams will compete next at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track & Field Championships in Seattle Feb. 24 and 25.
