Friday Performances at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas -- Washington State track and field competitors performed in the sprints and the discus Friday at the 84th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

In the men's 100m dash preliminary heats, Nate Washington ran the fastest time for the Cougars of 10.51W (wind of 4.6 meters per second) for 20th place. Marlon Murray ran his first sprint of the season and finished 31st in a time of 10.60W while Brett Blanshan was 39th in a time of 10.66w. The top nine times from the prelims advanced to the Saturday final.

The sprint trio was joined by Brandon Dawson and started the day running in the men's 4x100m relay, finishing in a time of 40.92 for 12th place.

Ashley Kenney finished fifth in Section B of the women's discus after throwing a distance of 153-feet, 3 inches (46.71m).

Saturday's Texas Relays action for the Cougars will include the men's 400m hurdles final, the women's javelin, and the men's 4x400m relays. Live results for the four-day meet can be viewed at www.texassports.com.
