Oct. 3, 2011

STATELINE, Nev. - Washington State sophomore Jarrett Foote is tied for 20th after two rounds of the Wolf Pack Classic men's golf tournament, hosted by Nevada.

A transfer from Portland, Foote shot a 75 in each round and sits at 6-over par, six shots back of the leaders. Freshman Michael Anderson, competing as an individual for the Cougars, shot 74 and 76 is tied with Foote and four others.

As a team, Washington State (+40) is tied for 12th in the 14-team field. Other Cougars in the tournament are senior Trent Sanders (+11), tied for 50th, senior Branden Dalton (+12), tied for 56th, junior Hank Frame (+14), tied for 67th, and sophomore Kent Hagen (+19), tied for 75th.

"We played okay in the morning," Cougar Head Coach Garrett Clegg said. "We struggled to make puts in the afternoon, did not make any birdies on the par fives, and collectively played poorly. Hopefully, we can regroup for tomorrow.

Nevada (+9) leads the tournament with 18 holes remaining. Final round play begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
