SAMMAMISH, Wash.- Sophomore Mallory Kent led the Washington State University women's golf team Monday, firing a 77 (+5) on the first day of play at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash.

The Cougars posted a team score after the opening round of 322 (+34) and tied for 11th.

"It was a rough day today," said Head Coach Kamimura, "I know we will fight back and finish the tournament strong."

Junior Emma Betland posted an 80 (+8) and Freshman Kristen Rue fired an 81 (+9) while Senior Kristen Allard carded an 84 (+12) and Junior Brenda Jesernig shot an 87 (+15).

Play continues at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. with the second of three rounds. Live stats will be available at golfstat.com.
