Hank Frame Finishes Tied for Ninth in California

FAIRFAX, Calif. - The Washington State men's golf team finished 14th at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, Tuesday. Hosted by California and played at the Meadow Club Golf Course, the three round tournament was won by California and Oregon. The Golden Bears and Ducks both finished at 811, 41-under.

Playing the par-71 course, Cougar junior Hank Frame finished the tournament tied for ninth, his sixth career top 10 finish. Frame carded a 67 in the final two rounds to finish at 8-under (205), 10 shots back from tournament winner Oregon's Eugene Wong.

Freshman Michael Anderson also had a strong presence in the field, finishing the three rounds at 3-under (210), tied for 28th.

Washington State, as a team came in at 6-over (858). Other Cougars competing were senior Trent Sanders, tied for 63rd (+7, 220); senior Branden Dalton, 73rd (+10, 223); and sophomore Kent Hagen, 78th (+19, 232).

"Hank had an awesome day, he just played great," stated Garrett Clegg the Washington State head coach. "As a team we played about 10 holes really well, it's the other 44 we need to work on. We'll work hard and figure it out; we've got to be dedicated to being a better team. We need to be better around the green. Our short game just has to be better."

The Cougars return to action Oct. 31-Nov. 2 when they travel to San Martin Calif., to compete in the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle.
