STANFORD, Calif. (AP) -
Klay Thompson had 21 points, Faisal Aden scored 20 and Washington State ended Stanford's unbeaten streak at home with a 61-58 victory Saturday.
The dynamic guard duo helped the Cougars (13-5, 3-3) overcome a nine-point halftime deficit to win a Pac-10 road game for the first time this season. They also stopped Stanford's eight-game winning streak at Maples Pavilion.
Jeremy Green had 13 points and Josh Owens added 12 points for the Cardinal (10-6, 3-2), who were coming off an upset of No. 17 Washington and looking to sustain some momentum. Instead, they had another letdown.
Stanford had two late attempts to force overtime but couldn't convert. Owens missed the second of two free throws with 7 seconds remaining, and Green's desperate 3-point heave at the buzzer rimmed out to give Washington State the victory.
