Men's Golf Tied for Third Before Rain Delay

April 11, 2010

STANFORD, Calif. - Inclement weather brought the U.S. Intercollegiate to halt Sunday, leaving the Washington State men's golf team in a tie for third a little more than halfway into its first round.

The Cougars are tied with San Diego State at four-over-par, only three strokes behind the leader No. 3 Washington.

Senior Kevin Tucker and freshman Hank Frame are leading the WSU squad. The pair is at even-par, good enough for a share of 10th place. Nick Ellis also has a spot in the top 25 and will resume the first round in a tie for 22nd at 1-over.

Austin Hurt and Trent Sanders are currently fourth and fifth for the Cougars, respectively. Hurt is 3-over through 10 holes, while Sanders is 8-over through 12 holes.

The field will finish the first round tomorrow at 9 a.m., with the second round to follow immediately after.
