WSU Women Finish 16th at MountainView Collegiate Invitational

Tucson, Ariz. - The Washington State women's golf team fell into 16th place in the final round of the MountainView Collegiate Invitational. The team posted a 315 (+27) in the final round for a tournament total of 931 (+67) at the par-72 6,126 yard MountainView Golf Club.

Freshman Emma Betland continued her successful first year of collegiate golf leading the team in everyday of the tournament. Betland posted a 77 (+5) in the final round which moved her into a tie for 18th place. The three-round total of 225 (+9) earned Betland her fourth top-25 finish and was only three strokes away from getting her second top-10. This was the second lowest round of her career by one stroke when she fired a 218 (+8) in Texas.

Sophomore Kristen Allard was consistent throughout the whole tournament carding a 77 (+5) in all three rounds for a three-round total of 231 (+15). Allard finished in a tie for 46th and posted an impressive +2 on all par fours.

Freshman Ali Thompson carded a 79 (+7) in the last round for a three-round total of 233 (+17). Both redshirt junior Allison Travis and freshman Ellen Park posted 82 (+10) in the final round and had a tournament total of 243 (+27).

The Cougars will continue their play down in Tempe, Ariz. on April, 9th, the last tournament of the season before the PAC-10 tournament begins.
