COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Brodie Greene hit a pair of two-run home runs and No. 29 Texas A&M defeated No. 25 Washington State 6-5 in nonconference baseball at Olsen Field, Sunday.

Texas A&M (13-3) right-hander John Stilson (4-0) earned his second win of the series with three innings of relief as the Aggies took two of three games over the weekend.

"It was a great college baseball series and we just came up short in the end," WSU Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. "I am proud of the way our guys battled today and throughout the series."

Greene staked Texas A&M to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a two-run blast off WSU starter James Wise. The Cougars (10-3) tied the game in the top of the second. After a run scored on an error, Garry Kuykendall brought home a run with a sacrifice foul out.

The Aggies picked up a pair of unearned runs in their half of the second, but the Cougars tied the game with two runs in the top of the third. Matt Argyropoulos was hit by a pitch, took second on a wild pitch, and scored on a double by Michael Weber. Shea Vucinich plated Weber with a two-out, RBI-single.

The game was 4-4 into the seventh when Scott Arthur worked a two-out walk off WSU reliever Paris Shewey (2-1) that preceded Greene's second home run of the game.

The Cougars closed within 6-5 in the top of the eighth on a solo home run by Weber off Stilson. However, Stilson retired the final six men he faced to preserve the win.

Washington State opens a two-game series at Dallas Baptist, Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Central/4:30 p.m. Pacific.
