Miami Lakes, Fla. - The Washington State women's golf team is currently in three-way tie for fifth place after the first day of Qdoba Invitational at the par-72, 6,223-yard Senator Course at the Don Shula Golf Resort.
Senior Jessica Black and freshman Kristen Allard lead the Cougar contingent with a 73 (+1) after today's round. The finish was good enough to put them in a tie for sixth place, and only two strokes out of the lead.
Senior Amy Eneroth is close behind after posting a 3-over par 76, putting her in a tie for 24th.
Rounding out the Cougar lineup are freshmen Andrea Rosete and Lauren Howell. Rosete shot an 80 (+8) while Howell carded an 86 (+14).
WSU will look to make up some ground tomorrow as the third and fourth place teams are within three strokes of the Cougars.
Play continues tomorrow with a shotgun start beginning at 12:30 p.m., followed by the final round on Tuesday.
