PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) -Calvin Haynes scored 17 points, including 12 in a decisive second-half stretch, as Oregon State came back to beat Washington State 54-52 on Saturday.
Seth Tarver added 13 points for Oregon State (11-13, 5-8 Pac-10), which broke a three-game losing streak.
Klay Thompson scored 20 points to lead Washington State (13-12, 5-8).
In the first, Washington State led 17-14 with 9 minutes left in the first, and then held the Beavers to just one point for more than six minutes while building a 28-15 lead. The Cougars led 32-20 at halftime, after shooting 56 percent in the half while holding Oregon State to 38 percent.
Washington State was leading 42-31 early in the second when they went scoreless for some eight minutes as Oregon State went on a 16-0 run to take the lead. Haynes scored seven straight points, the last tying the score at 42 with 8:14 left.
Kevin McShane's short jumper gave Oregon State it's first lead at 44-42, and Haynes' 3-pointer made it 47-42.
