AUSTIN, Texas -- Temperatures in the low 30s and freezing rain greeted the competitors Saturday, the fourth and final day of the 80th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
WSU sophomore Robert Williams finished second in the men's 110m hurdles final with an NCAA Regional Qualifying time of 14.18 seconds, after running a prelim time of 14.17.
Junior Jon Jeffreys threw the javelin an NCAA RQ mark of 211-feet, 6 inches (64.47m) for fifth place in the men's section A competition.
Due to the inclement weather Saturday, some events were not contested, including the men's pole vault where WSU's All-American Tyson Byers was scheduled to make his 2007 outdoor debut.
"Rob had a better-looking race today in the sleet than he did Friday when he ran 14.17," Cougar Head Coach Rick Sloan said. "Jon did a nice job of throwing in these conditions. The only one who really got robbed with Tyson."
WSU will send competitors to the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invite at UCLA and the Mt. SAC Invite at Mt. San Antonio College next week.
