Cougars Perform Well at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. -- Three current Washington State University track and field competitors and a pair of former All-Americans competed Sunday at the Mt. SAC Relays held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium at Mt. San Antonio College.

Running in the men's University/Open races, Justin Woods (sophomore, Buena Vista, Calif.) ran season-best time of 10.51 seconds for sixth in the 100m and a time of 21.64w for 12th in the 200m dash. Jaycee Robertson (senior, Spanaway, Wash.) was 11th in the 100m with a time of 11.58 and fourth in the 200m with a time of 21.11. Former Cougar All-American Anson Henry, running for Nike, finished ninth in the 200m with a time of 21.41.

Tyson Byers (senior, Spokane Valley, Wash.) tied for fifth in the men's Invitational University/Open pole vault after clearing an NCAA Regional Qualifying 17-feet, 3 1/2 inches (5.27m).

Former WSU All-Americans competing at Mt. SAC included Tamara Diles who finished third in the Invitational University/Open pole vault with a clearance at 13-7 1/4 (4.15m), and Whitney Evans, competing for Canada, who finished sixth in the Invitational University/Open high jump at 5-10 3/4 (1.80m).

Washington State hosts the Cougar Invitational Track Meet Saturday at Mooberry Track.
