WASHINGTON STATE POSTGAME NOTES
Washington State recorded its first Pacific-10 road weekend sweep since at UCLA/USC, Feb. 5/7, 2004...first road sweep of the Arizona schools since 1981-82...first season sweep of the Arizona schools in Cougar history.
Cougars' two Pac-10 weekend sweeps this season mark the first time since 1994-95 WSU has swept more than one Pac-10 weekend in the same season...in 1994-95, Cougars swept the Oregon schools home and away and swept the Bay Area schools at home.
Washington State improved to 19-4, 8-3 in the Pacific-10...most wins since 20 in 1993-94 and most Pac-10 wins since nine in 1995-96.
Washington State fell behind 10-5, then used a 19-4 run to take a 24-14 lead with 8:51 remaining in the first half.
Cougars missed 11 straight shots in the second half and Arizona State used a 13-0 run to tie the game at 44 with 2:30 left in the game...Robbie Cowgill's basket with 2:00 remaining broke an 11:32 scoreless drought and gave WSU a 46-44 advantage.
Washington State's 48 points were the fewest in Cougar Pac-10 victory since Feb. 17, 1983 (48-45 over Oregon in Pullman).
