Auburn, Wash. - At the end of two rounds in the Opus NW Husky Invitational the Washington State Cougars sit in seventh place. Junior Jordan Mason had a nice day finishing in a tie for tenth place to lead the cougars in scoring. The entire field is chasing UCLA who had a great day finishing an impressive 16 strokes up on second place Washington, UCLA's closest competitor
Mason finished his second round of 18 with consecutive birdies on the par-5 hole 14 and par-4 hole 15. Mason tallied a 71 in round one followed by a 72 in round 2. Mason's (-1, 143) was the best of any WSU golfer on day one. Senior Chris Collins finished the day in the top 25 after shooting a 1-over 144 landing him just two strokes out of the Top 10.
Traveling for the second time this season, freshman Nick Grigsby shot a 9-over 153 to finish the day in a tie for 49th.
Redshirt senior Jordan Madison fired a 6-over 150 putting him in 39th place. Senior Kevin Chen shot a 10-over 154 which landed him tied for 53rd.
UCLA's Lucas Lee shot a 6-under-par first round of 66 and a 2-under-par second round to lead all scorers with an 8-under-par 136.
The final round of the Opus NW Husky Invitational tee off at 7:30 am Tuesday.
