Fairfax, Calif. - Sophomore Max Reinland is the top Cougar after day one of the Alister Mackenzie Invite. Reinland shot a 3-under 139 on the day landing him in a tie for 12th place with one round to play. Reinland shot a career best 68 in round two putting him just one stroke out of a spot in the tournament's top 10.
As a team the Cougars shot a 4-under, 564, leaving them in a tie for fifth with the Fresno State Bulldogs. The Cougars will be chasing the first place Cal Bears who ended their day with a 25-under, 543.
Freshman Nick Grigsby aided by his career low round 65 in round two, finds himself in a tie for 25th after day one. Grigsby the youngest of the WSU golfers sent to Fairfax, Calif. will enter play on Tuesday in search of his first top-25 finish as a Cougar.
The final round of the Alister Mackenzie Invite tees off on Tuesday.
