Burduli Advances at ITA Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Washington State University junior Ekaterina Burduli defeated Georgia Tech's Taryn Rudman, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, advancing her to the quarterfinals of the consolation round at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships.
Burduli, ranked 47th nationally, dropped her first set to the Yellow Jacket, but stormed back in the last two sets to take the match. Rudman became the tenth nationally-ranked victim Burduli has taken down in her collegiate career, Rudman was No. 74.
Burduli will face Alexandra Hirsh of Wake Forest in Thursday's quarterfinal. Hirsh, ranked 32nd, enters the quarterfinal match after beating Yvette Hyndman of Georgia, 7-5, 5-7, 7-5.
