SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - After 98 minutes of scoreless play, Washington State University's women's soccer team gave up the game-winning goal at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to fall 1-0 in overtime.
The Cougars outshot head coach Dan Tobias' alma mater 12-8, but did not finish any of their attempts bringing their season record to 3-2.
"I felt like we had most of the run of play," Tobias said about Friday night's game. "As disappointing as the results were, I felt like the performance was good. We've been playing a lot of shutout soccer lately and it was really a shame to give up a goal at that point."
The Cougar's goalkeeper, Lindsey Jorgensen, made six saves on goal bringing her save percentage to .829 and her goals against average to 1.26.
Senior Deka DeWitt, currently the Cougars leading scorer (two goals, one assists), had seven shots on goal.
The Cougs will finish up play in San Luis Obispo Sunday, September 17th at 1 p.m. PT against San Jose State.
