Emma Wren is entering her first year as an assistant coaching staffs for the Washington State University cross country and track & field programs in 2022-23.
Wren spent the last two years in Alamosa, Colorado at Adams State University where she completed her master’s in Applied Sports Psychology. Wren worked as a volunteer assistant coach where she helped with daily practice operations, managed home meets and travel to competitions. Wren also coached the distance and middle-distance runners.
Wren used her remaining eligibility to compete for the ASU Grizzlies focusing on the 1500 meters. Wren competed in the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, earning first All-American honors.
Before her time in Colorado, Wren was a student athlete at Kansas State University from 2015-2020 competing on the Wildcat Cross Country and Track and Field team. Wren completed her Bachelor of Science with a focus in Architectural Engineering. Wren had a top ten finish in the Big 12 Championships for the mile during her final year in Manhattan. Wren’s versatility allowed her to compete in the Big 12 Conference Outdoor and Indoor Track and Field Championships in multiple events.
Wren is actively involved in helping grow women’s sports. She is in the USTFCCCA Female Coaching Mentorship Program and is also a member of the Women’s Running Coaches Collective (WRCC).
