Sean Brophy begins his first season on Head Coach Jake Dickert’s staff, serving as a graduate assistant on the offensive side of the ball.
Though his first year in Pullman, Brophy is no stranger to the Cougar coaching staff. During the 2021 season, his first in the coaching ranks, he served as an assistant wide receivers and quarterbacks coach at his alma mater, the University of Incarnate Word, under current WSU Offensive Coordinator Eric Morris. In 2021, the Cardinals posted a 10-3 record, reached the FCS Playoffs for the second time in four seasons, while assisting in the development of current Cougar quarterback Cameron Ward, he threw for 4,648 yards and 47 touchdowns on the season.
Brophy was a three-year quarterback at UIW after transferring from Glendale Community College prior to the 2017 season. At UIW, he played for Morris for his final two seasons, helping the Cardinals to a Southland Conference title in 2018. Brophy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s of business administration.
Brophy is a native of Phoenix, Ariz.
