A 2011 graduate of Washington State University, Justin Blatner returned to his alma mater in 2015 as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Blatner returned to Washington State from the University of California, Riverside where he was the assistant to the director of strength and conditioning. During his time with the Highlanders, Blatner oversaw performance plans for softball, track and field, cross country, volleyball, and tennis. Under his guidance, softball and track & field broke numerous school records.
After graduating from Washington State, Blatner worked for one of the Minnesota Twins minor league affiliates as a strength and conditioning coach. He transitioned from the Twins to North Carolina State University to intern as a strength and conditioning coach. Leaving North Carolina State he worked as a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Northwestern University. While there he directly oversaw training for men's soccer, men's and women's swimming & diving, fencing, cross country, as well as assisting with men's basketball.
Blatner has been certified as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2010. He is also Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), USA Weightlifting Level 2 Certified, Functional Movement Screen Level 1 Certified (FMS), a Certified Speed and Agility Coach (CSAC), and a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC).
Blatner earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Northwestern University and two bachelors' degrees, one in Kinesiology and one economics from Washington State University. He is joined in Pullman by his wife Sarah.
