Jim Zeches - Defensive Tackles

JIM ZECHES BORN: October 4, 1950 (46), Los Angeles, Calif.

HOMETOWN: Los Angeles, Calif.

HIGH SCHOOL: St. Bernard (Los Angeles, Calif.) High, 1968 - Earned two varsity letters as a tight end for coach Phil Bolger's team.

COLLEGE: Santa Monica Junior College, 1968-69.

California State at Northridge, 1973 - Earned two varsity football letters at center...redshirted his first season.

COACHING EXPERIENCE: St. Bernard (Los Angeles, Calif.), 1973-75 - Served his alma mater as defensive coordinator.

Hoover (Glendale, Calif.) high, 1976-77 - Coached the offensive and defensive lines and coordinated the offense.

UCLA, 1978-80 - Defensive line coach for Terry Donahue...team won the 1980 Pac-10 title and played in the 1978 Fiesta Bowl.

Northwestern, 1981-86 - Coached the defensive line under head coach Dennis Green, 1981-85, and Francis Peay, 1986...coached four All-Big 10 performers and two NFL draft picks during his six years with the Wildcats.

Weber State College, 1987-88 - Served as the Wildcats' inside linebacker coach...three of his linebackers earned All-Big Sky honors during his two-year stint at WSC.

Washington State University, 1989-Present.

WSU RESPONSIBILITIES: 1989: defensive tackles; 1991: outside linebackers; 1994: recruiting coordinator.
