Coached by Mike Hagadone, earning two varsity letters at Enumclaw High...also lettered in wrestling (heavyweight)...as a JUNIOR named to the All-South Puget Sound League first team as both an offensive and defensive lineman...SENIOR year repeat member of the All-SPSL first team on both offense and defense...all-area pick by the Tacoma News Tribune and the Seattle Times...received All-State first team honors by Associated Press, the TNT, Seattle PI and Newberry's Prep Report...All-West selection by Prep Star...selected to participate in the 1998 East-West All-State football game...on defense made 51 tackles (38 solo), including six sacks and 11 tackles-for-losses.
HOLLENBECK'S WSU CAREER
Freshman (1998-99): V-letter...played in eight games...when he started at California he became the first true freshman to start on the defensive line for WSU since Ken Collins in 1978...moved up to the varsity early in the season after the loss of several defensive linemen...saw first action at Boise State...in the next game, at home against Idaho, made a season-high four tackles, including three for losses (-11)...had 1.5 sacks (-9) against the Vandals...a knee strain forced him out of the UCLA and USC games and limited his duty in several others...earned the following game awards: Defensive Lineman - Idaho; Special Team Big Play - Idaho.
Sophomore (1999-00): V-letter...played in seven games...missed fall camp and early season games following a foot injury that required minor surgery...moved from the defensive to the offensive line after Idaho, then back to defense midway through the season when several D-linemen were injured...most extensive play came against Oregon State when he had three tackles.
