KONGAIKA’S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Coached by Frank Kokarch as a senior and Travis Cantrell as a sophomore and junior while earning three varsity letters in football...also three letters in wrestling...co-captain for both teams senior year...SOPHOMORE year all-conference honorable mention offensive lineman...posted a 14-6 wrestling record and finished third in the regional meet...as a JUNIOR named to the All-State team as a lineman on both offense and defense and as a long snapper...also an All-Cook Inlet Conference choice on both sides of the ball...during wrestling season won two tournaments and finished second in both regional and State competition, finishing with a 27-2 record...during SENIOR year named lineman of the year in Alaska after being named to the all-conference and All-State first teams on both offense and defense...team MVP winner...All-State second team long snapper...won State and regional heavyweight wrestling titles while winning 19 of his 20 matches...named team’s outstanding senior wrestler.

FRESHMAN (1998-99): Redshirt season...walk-on...earned the following game awards: Defensive Scout Team – UCLA...awarded scholarship at end of spring semester.
RS-FRESHMAN (1999-00): V-letter... Games - 11…Starts - 6…named by the Seattle PI to their Pac-10 all-freshman team...started the first four games, came off the bench against Cal and Louisiana and then back to a starting role against ASU...missed the Oregon State game with a leg injury...notched season-best four tackles in back-to-back games against Oregon and USC...had three tackles against Idaho and Louisiana...recovered one fumble against California...earned the following team awards: Idaho/Defensive Lineman.
RS-SOPHOMORE (2000-01): V-letter… Games - 11…Starts - 6…started the first three games and the final three…All-Pac-10 honorable mention…finished the year with 29 tackles, the same as Fred Shavies and the most by a WSU defensive lineman…had six tackles for losses, including one sack against Arizona State…knocked down three passes…had a season-high seven tackles against ASU, including three for losses of 13 yards…made five stops against Washington in the last game of the year…earned the following five weekly team awards: Stanford/Defensive Pursuit Player, Arizona/Defensive Lineman, ASU/Defensive Lineman, OSU/Defensive Lineman, Oregon/Defensive Lineman.
RS-JUNIOR (2001-02): Games - 2…Starts - 0…did not see early season action while recovering from knee surgery in February to repair a dislocated patella of the left knee…saw first action against Oregon State, then played against MSU.
