POSTGAME NOTES

--Washington State used its 21st different starting lineup of the season.

--The Cougars led (22-20) at halftime for the first time in 11 games...lost for the first time in eight games at Friel, dating back to last season, when leading at intermission.

--Washington State recorded five blocks and raised its season total to 120, second most during a season in Cougar history (130 in 1986)...WSU has a school-record 81 blocks in Pacific-10 play this season.

--Cougars gave up the fewest points to Stanford since March 27, 1941 (41).

--Washington State gave up the fewest points in a loss since a 37-36 setback at Washington, Jan. 24, 1970.

--WSU gave up 82 points over a two-game span, the fewest points over a two-game span since Dec. 27/29, 1973 (82)...fewest points in consecutive conference games since Jan. 21/22, 1952 (81).

--WSU sophomore Robbie Cowgill tallied two blocks...moved into a tie for ninth place on the Cougar all-time list.
