Rosemary Longisa to Compete at NCAA Indoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — Rosemary Longisa heads to Arkansas for the NCAA Indoor National Championships. She qualified for two events, recording times inside the top 16 in the nation in both the 800m and the mile. Her mile semifinal will begin on Friday at 2:05 pm PT, and her 800m semifinal race will start on Friday at 6:25 PT. The finals will be on Saturday at 1:10 pm PT and 2:10 pm PT in her respective races.

Washington State picked up multiple wins in Reno, highlighted by Solomon Kipchoge's victories in the men's 5k (13:46.43) and 3000m (8:02.22), Rosemary Longisa's win in the women's 800m (2:07.65), Zenah Cheptoo's mile victory (4:47.97), and a first-place finish in the women's DMR by Mercy Biwott, Lashanna Graham, Daphne Evenson, and Longisa (11:31.83). The Cougs also added several top-five finishes, including Brenda Kibor's runner-up finish in the women's 3000m, Caroline Jepkorir's fourth-place finish and personal best in the women's 5k (17:00.48), and strong distance performances from Evans Kurui, Josphat Meli, and Ku Stevens, with five WSU runners placing in the top six of the men's 3000m.
