HOUSTON (February 20, 2026) – Washington State Swimming won the 200 medley relay while seniors Emily Lundgren and Anna Rauchholz each earned medals on Day three at the Mountain West Conference Championships Friday.
In the morning prelims, sophomore Mehlika Yalcin opened the day with a WSU Top-10 time in the 200 fly, posting a 2:00.24 for the seventh-best time in program history. Freshman Georgia Els, who just arrived from South Africa in January, continued her impressive first two months with a WSU Top-10 in the 100 breast prelims, going 1:01.40 for the sixth-fastest time in program history.
Rauchholz (100 Back), Lundgren (100 Breast) and Ashlyn Hernandez (100 Breast) all advanced to the evening final.
The 200 medley relay team opened the evening session with a win and a school-record 1:36.40, beating the field by nearly a full second. Rauchholz later broke her own school record in the 100 back, going 52.17 to place third while junior Kate Bluford posted a 53.74 during the "B" final for the third-fastest 100 back time in program history.
Lundgren placed second in the 100 breast with a 59.42 while Hernandez finished seventh in same final.
The championships wrap up Saturday with the 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 1650 Free and 400 Free Relay. Prelims start at 8:30 a.m. (PT) and finals are set for 4 p.m. (PT).
