PULLMAN, Wash. (September 7, 2025) – Washington State Women's Golf heads to New Mexico to open the 2025-26 season at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
The Course and Tournament Format
The tournament will be held at the UNM Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
The course will play as a par-72 at 6,354 yards.
Teams will play 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday.

In addition to Washington State and hosts New Mexico, BYU, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Fresno State, Long Beach State, Mercer, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, UNLV and UTEP make up the 15-team field.

Alice Johansson and senior
Madelyn Gamble each fired final rounds of 73 at the 2025 West Coast Conference Championships in Northern California. The championships were held at the Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, Calif. Johansson carded an opening round 73 Thursday, a second-round 75 and tallied a front-nine 34 en route to a final-round 73 to tie for tenth at five over, pacing WSU. Senior Sarah Skovgaard-Bils capped her week with a 78 to finish the tournament tied for 16
th at +8, Gamble tied for 18
th after recording four birdies in her final round to finish +10 and junior
Hannah Harrison posted a final-round 75 to tie for 23
rd. Freshman
Grace Rubelsky subbed in for the final round and carded a 77 with a pair of birdies Saturday. The Cougars finished the WCC Championships in fifth place.
Darcy Habgood Returns to Cougar Women's Golf as Assistant Coach
Former Washington State Women's Golf standout
Darcy Habgood is returning to the program as an assistant coach this past summer. In five seasons (2018-23) at WSU, Habgood recorded three Top-5 finishes, was ninth at the 2022 Pac-12 Conference Championships and closed her career qualifying for the 2023 NCAA Regional. The Nambucca Heads, Australia native led the Cougars in scoring average her final two seasons and posted the fourth-best scoring average in program history at 74.51. Following her collegiate career, Habgood reached stage two of LPGA Q-School and played on the Epson Tour before returning to work at the Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club in Australia. Habgood was a three-time WGCA All-America Scholar, a four-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection and graduated with a degree in public relations and marketing along with a minor in sports management.
Alice Johansson Named to 2024-25 All-West Coast Conference Team
Washington State Women's Golf sophomore
Alice Johansson was named to the All-West Coast Conference. Johansson picks up her first career all-league honor one day after earning West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention. The sophomore from Bollnas, Sweden recorded four Top-25 finishes including a team-best three Top-10's with a pair of individual titles. Johansson won the season-opening Bettle Lou Evans Invitation in Kentucky, shared the title at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Colorado week two where she fired a second-round school-record of 65, breaking the previous record of 66, recorded four times. Johansson closed the season tying for tenth at the WCC Championships and Monday picked up her first career All-Academic honor after posting a 3.24 cumulative GPA with business as her area of interest.
