Cougars Move Up Leaderboard at The Tindall

BREMERTON, Wash. (Sept. 22, 2025) -- Washington State Men's Golf fired a second round score of 7-under par, 281, to finish the first day at 3-under, 573, currently tied for fifth Monday at The Tindall, played at the 7,179-yard, par-72 Gold Mountain Golf Club Olympic Course.
 
Darkness arrived before the entire field had completed the second round, with five teams having between one and four holes remaining. The Cougars, who shot a first-round score of 4-over, 292, moved up seven spots on the leaderboard and currently sit tied for fifth with Oregon at 3-under, 573.
 
BYU leads the field at 24-under, 552, and sits six shots ahead of second-place Utah (-16). San Diego is third at -13, with all three of the top teams having completed 36 holes. Five teams, Seattle (-11), California (-9), Pacific (-2), Saint Mary's (-1) and Grand Canyon (+1) still have to complete their second round Tuesday morning.
 
With 12 players still looking to complete their second rounds, freshman Dylan Boenning and sophomore Dylan Burcham ended the first 36 holes at 1-under par, 143, tied for 20th overall. After an opening-round of 2-over, 74, Boenning carded a 3-under, 69, over his second 18 holes to move up 23 spots and currently is tied for 20th. After a double-bogey to start his second round, Boenning posted six birdies and just one bogey the rest of the way. Burcham opened his day with a 1-over, 73, before rebounding in round two with three birdies and a bogey to end up tied for 20th.
 
Senior Sam Renner opened his tournament with a 2-under, 70, including four birdies and two bogeys. His eagle on the par-4, first to open the second round pushed him to -4, but two bogeys and a double on the back nine ended his day with a 74 to finish his 36 holes at even-par, 144, tied for 27th.
 
Redshirt-junior Ben Borgida sits at two over through 36. The junior carded a three over, 75 on the first 18 but bounced back with a one under, 71 on the second 18. Borgida was 5-over after five holes into the second round before going three under for the final 13 holes to sit tied for 47th overall at 2-over, 146. Junior Ben Mulder sits at three over after carding 76-71 through 36 holes, tied for 56th overall.
 
At The Tindall Invitational tournament, played on the 6,775-yard, par-72 Cascade Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club, sophomore Tate Bruggeman led three Cougar players as he fired rounds of 72-71 to finished his first 36 holes tied for ninth at 1-under-par, 143. Bruggman was steady throughout both rounds, with six birdies and first bogeys Monday.  
 
Freshman Christian Flick and sophomore Garrett Harrison posted identical rounds of 74-71 to finish the first two rounds tied for 18th at 5-over, 149.
 
Play concludes Tuesday at The Tindall with the conclusion of the second round followed immediately by the third and final round.
