Cougars Open Fall Season at Battle In The Bay

PULLMAN, Wash. (Sept. 10, 2025) – The Washington State Women's Tennis team begins its 2025-26 season by sending two players to the 2025 Battle In The Bay, Sept. 11-14 at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco, Calif.
The Cougars will have seniors Eva Alvarez Sande and Maxine Murphy competing in both singles and doubles at the one of the premier fall events in college tennis. Alvarez Sande will open her tournament Thursday, Sept. 11 against No. 3 seed Gracie Epps of Oklahoma State, while Murphy will face TCU's Raquel Caballero Chica.
In doubles play, the Cougar duo is seeded fourth in the 16-team draw and open against Colorado's Ema Bubalo and Lera Alexin in the first round.
