KICKING OFF THE NEW YEAR
The Washington State women's soccer program returns to action for its 37th season, kicking off the 2025 season against Utah State at Lower Soccer Field, Thursday, August 14. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Cougar Soccer Complex with coverage on ESPN+.

STUDER EARNS ALL-WCC PRESEASON
Returning sixth-year senior Jenna Studer was named to the All-WCC preseason team. The California native will feature in the Cougars' backline after delivering a pair of goals and an assist last season, playing nearly every minute of the 2024 campaign.

THE COUGARS AND THE AGGIES
WSU traveled to Logan, Utah last year to face then-No. 7 Utah State in the final nonconference game of the season. The Cougs held the Aggies to a scoreless draw, Sept. 19, becoming the first program in the country to hold the top-10 side scoreless. Washington State and Utah State are meeting this season for the fourth time in program history, with WSU winning the inaugural meeting in 1997 in Pullman and a second meeting in Salt Lake City in 2006. The Cougs posted shutouts in all three matches with USU.

WAZZU IN SEASON OPENERS
The Cougs are 26-7-3 overall and 11-3-2 in season openers at Lower Soccer Field, drawing their highest-attended crowd each season during the debut under Coach Shulenberger and a record-setting crowd of 3,147 to begin the 2021 season. In 2023, the last time the Cougs opened the season at home, 3,013 fans witnessed the Cougs beat Eastern Washington. Under Coach Shulenberger, the Cougars are 5-3-2 in season openers with two losses to top-25 teams.

COACH TODD SHULENBERGER
Head Coach Todd Shulenberger enters his 11th season at the helm of the Cougar soccer program with a 106-60-29 record, the winningest coach in program history. Shulenberger is the longest tenured head coach in WSU soccer history, leading the Cougars to five NCAA Tournaments in 10 seasons, including an historic run to the College Cup and the 2019 national semifinal.

ABOUT THE AGGIES
Utah State returns as reigning Mountain West Conference and tournament champions with back-to-back postseason bids. The 2024 USU side won a program-record 18 games with just a single loss. Led by fifth-year head coach Manny Martins, the Aggies' Kaylie Chambers, Tess Werts, and Summer Diamond were all named to the 2025 Mountain West Watch List.

ROSTER RELOAD
The Cougars welcomed 20 new faces to campus, including six transfers and 14 freshmen. WSU retained 10 returnees from the 2024 campaign, including four returning starters, two additional letterwinners, and four redshirts.

OH CAPTAINS, MY CAPTAINS
WSU's senior trio of Maggie Mace, Peyton Price, and Jenna Studer were selected by teammates and staff as the 2025 team captains.

NEW NETMINDERS
For the first time in five seasons, the Cougars will see a new face between the posts, replacing 2021 Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year and four-season starter, Nadia Cooper. Redshirt-seniors Keara Fitzgerald and Zora Standifer have battled for the starting job all training camp with incoming freshman Sidney Venier backing them up.
