Logan Johnstone hit a pair of home runs as Washington State beat San Diego State 13-3 in a run-ruled eighth innings at Bailey-Brayton Field Saturday afternoon. The Cougars beat the Aztecs by the same score in seven innings Friday. WSU has won three of its last four series.

WSU (8-14, 3-2 Mountain West) hit a season-high four home runs to back starter
Nick Lewis who allowed just one run while working into the seventh inning. Eight Cougar hitters collected hits and eight scored runs led by Johnstone who hit two home runs, walked three times, drove in three runs and scored three times. The redshirt-junior rightfielder from Los Gatos, Calif. homered in Friday's series-opener.

Max Hartman also homered as Hartman's two-run shot in the eighth extended his hitting streak to 16 games.
Ollie Obenour and Roy each extended their hitting streaks to 11 games while Roy also drove in three runs.

Lewis earned the win after striking out a season-high five and allowed just one fifth-inning run while working into the seventh.

Johnstone put the Cougars out in front with a solo shot to right field in the second while Lewis retired 12 straight after allowing a bloop double to leadoff the game.

Ricco Longo sacrifice fly and two runs scored on a Roy's infield-single to shortstop.

WSU pulled away with three runs in the seventh inning before Hartman and Johnstone each hit two-run shots to right field in the four-run eighth inning.
