BOSTON —Â
Tatum Moku and
Mason Lawyer both set program records in the women's pole vault and men's 60 meter dash, respectively, pushing their way into the top 16 nationally, Sunday, at the 2025 Last Chance Indoor National Qualifier.
Â
Lawyer's time of 20.63 seconds ranks 15th fastest in the nation and is a program record for the Cougars. His time was four-tenths faster than the second-place finisher. Lawyer previously set the record earlier this year at the New Mexico Team Open with a time of 20.78 seconds, only to see that mark broken by teammate
Grant Buckmiller two weeks ago at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships in 20.72.
Â
Moku also set a program record in the pole vault with a height of 4.46 meters (14' 7.5"). Her height was .03 meters higher than her previous school mark. Moku missed her first two attempts at 4.31 meters but successfully cleared the bar on the third attempt. It only took her first attempt at 4.46 meters to secure the program record.
Â
Lawyer currently holds the 15th-fastest mark in the nation this season in the 200m, as well as 10th-fastest in the 60m, while Moku's height is tied for 11th nationally. The Top 16 marks in each respective event advances to the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, March 14-15, in Virginia Beach, Va.
