SPOKANE, Wash. (Feb. 22, 2025) – Washington State Men's Track & Field captured the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation team title while the women finished second during the 2025 MPSF Championships Saturday at The Podium. The Cougar men captured five event titles with the WSU women adding three. In all, WSU Student-athletes collected 12 individual event titles over the two-day championship event.

WSU won the team title with 162 points, well ahead of second-place Long Beach State (124), Portland (121) and Cal State Fullerton (105). Cal State Northridge (81) and UC Riverside (42) rounded out the field. On the women's side, WSU's 102.5 points was second to champion Oregon State (128.5) and ahead of Long Beach State (100). Hawaii (70.5) and UC Davis (60.5) rounded out the top 5.

At the conclusion of the championships, WSU's Micaela De Mello and Mason Lawyer were the women's and men's high point scorers, respectively.

It was all Cougars at the start of the day as the first three events resulted in WSU victories. Parker Duskin started it off with a season-best 7.71 seconds to capture the Men's 60m Hurdles title while De Mello claimed the Women's 60m Hurdles events in 8.00 seconds, the third-fastest time in the nation this season and just 0.01 seconds off the school record.

Lawyer made it three-for-three as he claimed victory in the Men's 60m dash, crossing in a personal-best 6.55 seconds, second all-time at WSU and the eighth-fastest time in the country this season.

Freshmen Rosemary Longisa and Evans Kurui added the winning total as Longisa claimed victory in the Women's 800m in a time of 2:10.28, while Kurui ran away from the field in the Men's 3000m, winning by 10 seconds. Senior Alaina Stone Boggs made it a 3000m sweep for the Cougars as she crossed the line in 9:29.14, leading four Cougars in the event.

Junior Eli Lawrence claimed his first MPSF title as he captured the Men's Triple Jump with a winning leap of 15.42m (50' 7.25"). The men closed out their championship by winning the 4x400 Relay, finishing in a time of 3:07.76, the fourth-fastest time in WSU history. The team of Royal Haley, Grant Buckmiller, Lawyer and Ethan Willems set a facility record with their performance, which also was the 31st-fastest time in the national this season.

Along with the eight event victories Saturday, the Cougars combined for seven additional podium finishes and 11 personal-best marks on the day.
