IOWA CITY, Iowa (November 18, 2025) – Washington State Swimming opened the Hawkeye Invitational with a win in the 200 medley relay and a second-place finish in the 800 free relay to lead the nine-team field hosted by the University of Iowa Tuesday.
 
Through three events, WSU leads the way with 74 points while Miami and Nebraska are tied for second, while Iowa, Kansas and Illinois are tied for fourth, UConn is seventh, Iowa State is eighth and Northern Iowa in nineth.
 
The Cougars opened the day claiming the first swimming event with a 1:36.77 to win the 200 medley relay, nearly three seconds ahead of second-place Miami. WSU's Anna Rauchholz, Emily Lundgren, Addyson Lewis and Darcy Revitt's winning time was .26 of a second off the school record but was a Hawkeye Invite record. WSU's B relay of Jade Castro, Ashlyn Hernandez, Skylar Brgoch and Barbora Mileisyte posted a 1:40.12, good for eighth out of 29 relay teams.
 
In the 800 free relay, Lauren Wille led off with a 1:46.74, good for a WSU Top-10 time as the third-fastest 200 free time in program history. Tatum Janning, Ariel Wang and Issabelle Parrish followed Wille to place second out 22 relay teams.
 
Wednesday's day two of the Hawkeye Invitational will see the Cougars compete in the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 200 free relay with prelims set for 8 a.m. (PT) and finals set for 3 p.m. (PT).
