Cougars Conclude Play at Battle for the Boot

FORT WORTH, Texas (Oct. 25, 2025) –Washington State Tennis as swept in its three matches Saturday to complete play at the Battle for the Boot, hosted by Texas Christian University.
 
In singles action against Rice, sophomore Chisato Kanemaki went the distance before falling to Anushka Ashar, 3-6, 7-6 (5), 12-10. Redshirt-junior Yura Nakagawa dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to Rice's Ema Mravcova.
 
In doubles play, the duo of Raquel Caballero Chica and Cristina Ramos Sierra from TCU posted a 6-1 win over Nakagawa and Kanemaki.
 
The Cougars are next in action Friday when they compete at the Gonzaga Invitational.
