BERKELEY, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2025) – Washington State seniors
Eva Alvarez Sande and
Maxine Murphy posted two wins over Washington opponents Monday to advance to the doubles final at the 2025 ITA Northwest Regional, held at the Hellman Tennis Center.
In their quarterfinal match, the Cougar duo jumped out to a 6-1 lead and never looked back en route to an 8-3 win over Washington's Reece Carter and Jermine Sherif, the No. 8 seed. IN their next match, Alvarez Sande and Murphy captured a break of serve each set in defeating Washington's No. 3-seeded pair of Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit, 6-3, 6-3.
Tuesday's doubles final, where the WSU pair will face Cal's Mao Mushika and Greta Greco Iucchina, is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hellman Tennis Center.
